Mary Marquez, LPC
My name is Mary Marquez, I am an American originating from the rural Coastal Mountains of Oregon. I am 45 years old, white, and female in body and mind. In partnership with my Husband, I am a mother of one. I am an only-child raised on farm-and in the Forest (and in logging-country) by my mother and father who supported me with a working-class income allowing me the privilege to engage and connect with Horses and the joys of Nature throughout childhood. I now live in Eugene with my family and continue to have the privilege of prioritizing a connection with Nature and Horses in life and in therapeutic approach.
Through life and education, I have learned that connection is a profound and transformative experience—a bridge that connects the inner and outer worlds, nurturing both individual growth and collective harmony. My journey has illuminated the importance of embracing the wisdom of this earth, allowing it to shape perspectives and provide grounding. This philosophy has inspired me to weave the threads of nature and humanity into my therapeutic practice, deeply rooting it in the belief that healing begins with connection.
As modern Humans have evolved, connection with Nature has been devalued and ignored by the conditioning of civilization, resulting in harms towards our core humanity. In prioritizing healing, recovery, growth, and transcendence there is priority in addressing the injuries of disconnection that will involve recognizing the intricate owning of harm, safety, oppression, and empowerment in the therapeutic relationship. I am grateful to engage with you in the stewardship of restoring the harmony that fosters both personal and collective thriving.
